Applications:
1. Coatings, inks and adhesives (largest solvent use): environmentally preferred thinner replacing toluene, xylene and part of ethyl/butyl acetate to cut VOC and aromatics; NC, PU wood, plastic coatings, screen inks, shoe PU and neoprene blends; recommend ≤40% dosage; reduce in humid seasons to prevent blushing; blend with slow-dry ethers to balance evaporation and gloss
2. Lithium-battery electrolyte core solvent: base solvent with ethylene carbonate / diethyl carbonate for lithium-salt dissociation and conductivity
3. Green organic intermediate: methylation/carbonylation reagent replacing phosgene and dimethyl sulfate for pharma, agrochemicals, fragrances and polycarbonate; feedstock for long-chain carbonate ester exchange
